Rainy days always feel a little different. Everything slows down, the air feels fresh, and suddenly your plans depend on how prepared you are before stepping outside.
Over time, I’ve learned that having a few simple essentials makes rainy days so much easier — especially when you’re out with kids, running errands, or just trying to stay dry and comfortable.
My Rainy Day Must-Haves
These are the things I always try to have ready when rain is in the forecast:
- A sturdy umbrella (wind-resistant if possible)
- Waterproof boots or rain shoes
- A lightweight rain jacket
- A small tote or waterproof bag
- Extra socks (just in case)
- Hair tie or claw clip for wet weather
- Travel-size umbrella for the car or bag
- Waterproof phone case or pouch
- Towel or wipes for quick clean-ups
- Hand sanitizer
Nothing complicated — just simple things that make being outside in the rain much less stressful. https://a.co/d/0avCMY0C

Staying Comfortable in the Rain
The biggest difference for me is comfort.
Wet shoes, cold socks, or no umbrella can completely change your mood for the day. But when you’re prepared, rainy days actually feel manageable — even enjoyable.
Waterproof boots, a good umbrella, and a light jacket make a huge difference when you’re walking into stores, picking up kids, or running errands.
A Little Preparation Goes a Long Way
I’ve realized it’s not about avoiding the rain — it’s about being ready for it.
Keeping a few essentials in your car, your bag, or near your door can make life so much easier when the weather changes suddenly (because it always does).
Rainy days don’t have to slow you down… they just need a little preparation.
With love,
Nana 🤍
